摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a machined article having no heat damage by suppressing the generation of oxide at a grinding point, preventing the wear of an abrasive grain cutter, and improving the machining accuracy and the finished surface shape of the article. SOLUTION: Grinding is performed by supplying nonoxiding gas such as gaseous argon, gaseous nitrogen or the like to the working surface of a grind stone 1 from the inside of the grind stone through its pores. A grinding wheel 10 is provided with the disk-like grind stone 1 obtained by hardening abrasive grains with binders leaving the pores, and a hub 5 fixed to the attaching hole of the grind stone, and a vent hole 15 communicated with the pores is provided in the contact part of the hub 5 with the grind stone 1. The spindle of a grinder is provided with gas supplying means 19 for supplying nonoxidizing gas to the vent hole 15 provided in the hub 5 of the grinding wheel 10, and nonoxidizing gas is supplied from the inside of the grind stone to a grinding point. By a centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the grind stone, the nonoxidizing gas is smoothly supplied to the work surface of the grind stone. By providing nonventing skin films in parts other than the work surface of the grind stone, the leakage of the nonoxidizing gas is prevented.
