PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of podding beans in pods such as an unmatured soybean smoothly and surely, and housing the pods and beans separately. SOLUTION: This podding device is provided by making the outer peripheral surfaces of a pair of podding rollers 2 having parallel shaft lines as close each other to form a small gap 1 between the rollers. The peripheral speeds of the both podding rollers 2 are essentially mutually same and also the rollers are driven for rotating in opposite directions with each other. When the beans in the pods 4 are supplied on an upstream side of the small gap part 1, the gap of the small gap part between the rollers and the diameter of the podding rollers 2 are set so as to discharge only the pods 6 on the down stream side of the small gap 1 between the rollers 2 and also discharge the beans 5 on the up stream side of the small gap 1 between the rollers 2.
