摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new polyamino acid derivative having such a structure that a plurality of amino acids are mutually bound via the amino group's nitrogen atom through crosslinking group, and useful in various applications such as dispersants, metal ion chelating agents and rustproofing agents. SOLUTION: This new polyamino acid derivative is such one that four or more amino acids are mutually bound via the amino group's nitrogen atom through crosslinking group; wherein the crosslinking group is pref. hydroxyl group and/or an alkylene group optionally having ether linkage in the carbon chain [e.g. a group of formula I ((k) is an integer of 1-10)], and this derivative is pref. a derivative of formula II (B is an amino acid side chain; M is H or a counterion; (n) is an integer of >=4). The new polyamino acid derivative is obtained by reaction between (x) mol of epichlorohydrin and/or (y) mol of a polyepoxy compound having (z) epoxy functional groups and an amino acid at [2/3×(x+y×z/2) to 4/3×(x+y×z/2) mol.
