PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direction change device for materials to be carried capable of ensuring direction change of the materials to be carried without damaging the materials to be carried. SOLUTION: Materials carried on carriage passage planes 19 (19a, 19b, 19c) smoothly enter from downward to an inclined roller 18 after passing through the slope plane 19b and then gradually move along the vicinity of the outer periphery of the inclined roller 18 while riding on near the outer periphery of the upper face of the inclined roller 18 with the rotation of the inclined roller 18, where they are direction-changed to the tangential direction of the inclined roller 18 near the highest portion of the inclined roller 18. If the inclined axis 16a of the inclined roller 18 is greatly inclined to an axis perpendicular to the horizontal carriage passage plane 19a to increase force on direction change, the materials can smoothly enter to the inclined roller 18 by means of the slope plane 19b.
