PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop the decorative effect of decorative thumbtacks even upon storing by a method wherein the decorative thumbtack, provided with horizontal grooves on the side surface of the head unit of the same, is attached to and detached from a storing case, provided with a pair of rail units, by the engaging or releasing between the groove units and rail units. SOLUTION: A decorative thumbtack 1 is provided vertically with a needle unit at the center of a head unit 3, made of a decorative material formed through decorative work. The side surface 5 of a decorative thumbtack 1 is provided with an annular groove unit 6 having banks 7 and the axis of the same about the needle unit or the line of extension of the needle unit. On the other hand, a storing case 2 is formed of a rectangular resin thin sheet having a slight elasticity by bending the same so as to be a rectangular tubular body provided with a gap 11 on the center of one side of the same. Rail units 10 are formed on narrow spaces 13 at both ends and a receiving space 12 at the central parallel parts. In this case, the groove unit 6 of the decorative thumbtack 1 is engaged with the rail units 10 of the storing case 2. According to this method, the head unit 3 of the decorative thumbtack 1 is exposed to the outside of the storing case 1 and the needle unit is in the same case 1 under covered condition when the thumbtack 1 is received in the storing case 1.
