PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composite wire for hardened cladding by welding by the selfshield arc welding of a part easy to wear such as a roller and a table of a pulverizer for coal, ore or refined slag in which a weld metal of excellent wear service life can be obtained. SOLUTION: A compound wire contains, by weight to the total weight of the wire, 4-7% C, 0.2-2.0% Si, 0.2-2.0% Mn, 20-28% Cr, 1-5% Ni, 1-5% Mo, and at least one of <=3% Al or <=3% Ti, and 0.5-4% W, 1-4% Nb, 1-4% V, etc., as necessary.
