PURPOSE: A soft hand-off in cellular mobile communication network is provided to prevent an excessive control load in a mobile switching center during inter-BS(Base station system) soft-hand off and the waste of resources such as communication lines between a base station controller and the mobile switching center as well as to avoid a high-priced and complicated control method by performing the inter-BS soft-hand off. CONSTITUTION: Soft hand off between base stations under the control of adjacent base station controllers(441,442) is performed by using a hand off control unit provided in the base station controllers. In the configuration, the excessive cost increase is prevented because there is no need to provide the hand off controller in a mobile switching center(40), and also the excessive control load imposed on the mobile switching center is decreased by performing inter-BSC soft hand off without the meditation of the mobile switching center, and the lack of communication lines, caused by the excessive use between base station controllers and mobile switching centers can also prevented based upon the soft hand-off. |
