CONTACT VAPOR PHASE OXIDATION METHOD USING SHELL AND TUBE VESSEL

PURPOSE: A shell and tube vessel is used for a contact vapor phase oxidation preventing the formation of hot spot. CONSTITUTION: A shell and tube vessel(1) consists of several reaction tubes(4) between each plate supporting an upper plate(6a) and a lower tube(6b), an inlet(2) and an outlet(5) of raw gas. A contact vapor phase oxidation is performed by the following steps; being circulated a medium of heat around inner reaction tubes(4), which is run from the upper part to the lower part of the shell; filling inner tubes with catalysts(3); supplying raw gas and raw materials to the reaction tubes, which are run from the upper part to the lower part of the tube; being oxidized to a resultant product; discharging formed gas.
