MATERIAL FOR FIXING FIBROUS COATING FOR WIRE AND METHOD OF FIXING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a material which fixes a fibrous coating for wires conveniently and efficiently and which effectively prevents fuzz of the coating generated where the wire is cut by blending at least a photopolymerizable compound and a photoinitiator and by making the material have a specific viscosity with blending substantially no solvent. SOLUTION: A photopolymerizable compound which is preferably a vinyl ether compound (e.g. triethyleneglycoldivinyl ether) and a photoinitiator (e.g. triphenylsulfoniumhexafluorophosphate) desirably in an amount of 0.1-7 pts.wt based on 100 pts.wt. of the photoinitiator are blended to make the material have a viscosity of 5-200 cp without including a solvent substantially. Preferably, a colorant (e.g. phthalocyanine) is also blended for distinguishing the position to be coated with a material for fixing. The use of the material for fixing enables fixing of wires to be processed rapidly on automatic lines and the like in factories without the need of heating and volatilizing a solvent.
