PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a compsn. excellent in the flame retardancy, mechanical strengths, wet heat resistance, heat resistance, electrical insulating property, and surface characteristics of the molding, by blending a thermoplastic polyester resin, a glass fiber, an adduct of melamine and cyanuric acid, and an inorganic complex oxide in a specific ratio. SOLUTION: A compsn. is obtained by blending 30-70 wt.% of a thermoplastic polyester resin, 5-50 wt.% of a glass fiber, 4-20 wt.% of an adduct of melamine and cyanuric acid, and 0.1-3 wt.% of an inorganic complex oxide in which two or more kinds of metal oxides have been baked at a high temp. of 800-1,500 deg.C. The glass fiber pref. is a chopped-strand glass fiber treated with a sizingagent. The adduct of melamine and cyanuric acid is pref. an equimolar adduct of melamine and cyanuric acid. Additionally a flame retardant may be available. The flame retardant used is a phosphorus-based flame retardant, an organic bromine-based flame retardant, etc. An addition amt. of the flame retardant is 0-20 wt.% of the compsn.
