PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To convey a sheet without causing any defective feed by providing a separating member pressing sheets to a feeding means feeding the stacked sheets for separating the fed sheets one by one and providing a guiding means exposed to a sheet feeding face on the separating member. SOLUTION: Sheet S stacked on a stacking tray are pressed to a feed roller 11 by means of a pressing plate 16 energized by a pressing spring 15 so as to be fed out by the rotation of the feed roller 11. The fed sheets S are separated one by one by means of a separating pad 12, and for facilitating the separation, a sub-pad 17 serving as a separation assisting means for shaping the tip of the fed sheet S into a wedge shape is arranged. In the sheet feeding direction, a guide rib 13 serving as a guiding means is arranged between the separation part based on the feed roller 11 and the separation pad 12 and the sub-pad 17 so that the guide rib 13 is projected toward the feed roller side beyond the friction face (upper face) of the separation pad 12 and lowered below the sub- pad 17.
