PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly couple and integrate a carry-in part, a collection part and a binding part with one another by providing, as the carry-in part for acquiring printing sheets, a partitioning portion for making a space in a flow of the printing sheets as needed and a partition eliminating portion for eliminating unnecessary spaces in the flow. SOLUTION: The binder 1 for collecting and binding printing sheets W fed out from a rotary press or the like while arranging the sheets W comprises a carry-in part 2, a collection part 3, a bind preparing part 4 and a binding part 5. The carry-in part 2 includes a centering conveyer 8 located at its inlet end, a partitioning portion 9 for making a space between the printing sheets at required positions in a flow of the printing sheets which are continuously placed flatly with a part overlapped, a defective sheet discharging portion 11, and a partition eliminating portion 12 for eliminating the space at an unnecessary portion which occurs when some of the printing sheets W are discharged out of a path as defective sheets or when the printing sheets W are manually extracted as a sample.
