COLOR CATHODE RAY TUBE

PURPOSE: A color cathode ray tube is provided to attenuate the vibration of the whole shadow mask with a simple structure. CONSTITUTION: A color cathode ray tube is provided to attenuate the vibration of a shadow mask(10). The color cathode ray tube comprises a mask frame(11) formed in a frame shape and the shadow mask where a number of slot holes(12) are formed on a flat plate. The shadow mask is supported to the mask frame in the state that a tractive force is applied along one direction. In a resonance due to the vibration transferred to the color cathode ray tube, the amplitude of an end part of the shadow mask is relatively over the amplitude of the central part of the shadow mask by a fixed amount. The vibration of the end part of the shadow mask is attenuated as a section of the shadow mask moves as sliding on a vibration attenuator by the vibration attenuator installed on the end part of the shadow mask. By this, the vibration of the whole shadow mask can be disappeared.
