ADAPTIVE EQUALIZER FOR HIGH DEFINITION DIGITAL VCR

PURPOSE: An adaptive equalizer for high definition digital VCR is provided to decrease a manufacturing cost by being embodied in a simple composition. CONSTITUTION: A first head(202) and a second head(204) reproduce data recorded in a baseband method as an analog RF signal and amplify the reproduced data. Analog/digital converters(206,208) sample the data amplified by the first head(202) and the second head(204) according to a clock(fs). A feed forward filter(214) filters the data sampled by analog/digital converters(206,208) and outputs a filter output value. A determining unit(216) determines the filter output value of the feed forward filter(214) as three levels. An error value computing unit(220) computes the determined value of the determining unit(216) and the filter output value of the feed forward filter(214), and then outputs an error value(e). An equalizing weight renewing unit(222) computes a new equalizing weight(W) according to the error value(e) from the error value computing unit(220).
