PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wedge opening jig for tie down device of an elevator capable of opening a wedge simply without disassembling a tie down device and shortening adjustment work time of a compensation pulley greatly. SOLUTION: A wedge opening jig 8 used to open wedges 20, 20A of a tie down device 18 of an elevator is provided with a pushing bolt 2 having an engaging means such as a fitting ring body 6 which can be engaged with a lower end part of wedge pulling bolts 22, 22A of the tie down device 18 in an upper end part thereof and a support member 1 constituted by connecting a lower screw-fitting body 3 holding the pushing bolt 2 in a screw-fitted condition with an upper loading body 4 loaded on a main body frame 19 of the tie down device 18 by a connection body 5. This wedge opening jig 8 pushes each wedge 20, 20A up by the pushing bolt 2 by engaging and attaching the support member 1 to the main body frame 19 and advancing and screwing the pushing bolt 2 so that it is not pressed against a guide rail 17 for compensation pulley.
