PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate non-adhesion caused by appearance failure or adhesion after a hole is formed in thermoplastic elastomer, by melting a side surface of a thermoplastic, cylindrical hollow portion by pressing the tip of a heated bar onto it, or by melting it by laser heating. SOLUTION: A weather strip 1 is constituted of a cylindrical hollow seal portion 3 that can elastically abut on a door or the like integrated with the upper surface of a flat mounting portion 2 engaged with and fixed to a retainer on the car body side. After material such as thermoplastic elastomer(TPE) is extruded from an extruder in a given cross sectional shape and is cooled in a cooling tank to provide the weatherstrip 1 with a given length, a heated bar 8 for drilling and machining a hole is stuck into a side surface of the hollow seal portion 3, and a bent hole 5 or a clip hole 6 are formed in the hollow portion 3 or the mounting portion 2. A solid shaped thin film is formed in a hole wall portion by thermal melting, and is coated with a skin layer. Thus, appearance becomes smart, any adhesive is not required even when the cylindrical hollow portion is packed, and even thermoplastic material such as TPE that cannot be adhered by any adhesive can be jointed.
