PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the manufacturing cost of a fixing piece, and to reduce the restriction in position on a vehicle body for fixing the fixing piece. SOLUTION: This roof rack is provided with two bar-like frames 2 arranged on a roof of a vehicle body 1, a fixing piece 3 to fix both end parts of each bar-like frame to the vehicle body 1, a cargo mounting member 6 which is connected to each bar-like frame through two link members 4, 5 of different length, and moved between the loading position and the unloading position forming a four-node link, a shock absorber 8 which is interposed between the bar-like frame on the rear side of the vehicle body and the shorter link member 5 close to the end part of the bar-like frame, a cargo hooking member 9 which is projected from each cargo loading member to hook a cargo, a connection rod 7 which is turnably supported by two bar-like frames connects the shorter link members 5 provided on the bar-like frames to each other and is turned together therewith, and connects the bar-like frame, and a handle 10 to turn the connection rod.
