摘要 PURPOSE: A system and a method for predicting the tension of a seat belt is provided to indicate the existence of a baby seat or objects and a seat for an adult by using a seat weight sensor and an accelerometer are provided. CONSTITUTION: A system of predicting the tension of a seat belt is composed of an accelerometer(2) having an output signal for responding to the vertical acceleration of a vehicle, a seat weight sensor(30) having the output signal for responding to the force given by mass for reacting on a seat and a processor (50) for measuring the tension of the seat belt. Herein, if the processor calculates a tension lever that exceeds the previously set up maximum value within the seat belt, it generates output(56) connected to an air bag control system(60) to prevent the inflation of the air bag. On the other hand, if the processor calculates the tension level under the maximum value, it supplies the output(56) to reduce an inflation state based on the weight measurement of an occupier.
