PURPOSE: A method for classifying channels is provided to classify channels according to arrangement of an audio signal, by detecting the audio signal in PDC/VPS(Program Delivery Code/Video Programmable System) data. CONSTITUTION: A method for classifying channels according to arrangement of an audio signal comprises the steps of: performing an ATS(Automatic Tuning System) when a TV system is on; distinguishing a sound mode of a received broadcasting signal, by using a PDC/VPS(Program Delivery Code/Video Programmable System) code in a received image signal; classifying channels by arranging as Dual>Stereo>Mono according to the sound mode, when completing the distinction of the sound mode; and continually classifying the channels according to the sound mode, until a system is finished. |
