PURPOSE: A system and a method for reproducing an optical disk capable of repeatedly recording are provided to prevent a bolting of an optical spot and improve a reproducing quality by weakening a following force while a header of each sector is reproduced and by preventing an increase of a tracking error signal while the header is reproduced. CONSTITUTION: A four dividing optical detector(10) has four light-receptive devices(A,B,C,D)and detects an amount of light to be incident through a pick-up, and converts the light into an electric signal. A tracking error signal generating unit(20) receives electric signals inputted from four light-receptive devices(A,B,C,D) of the four dividing optical detectors(10) and generates a tracking error signal(TE). A data signal generating unit(30) receives electric signals inputted from four light-receptive devices(A,B,C,D) and generates a data signal(RF). A signal compensating unit(40) compensates an input signal according to all disturbance occurred in a DVD-RAM and outputs the compensated signal to a pick-up driving unit(80). A microprocessor(60) senses a reproducing start point and a reproducing completion point from the data signal of the data signal generating unit(30), provides the tracking error signal(TE) of the tracking error signal generating unit(20) to a low pass filter(LPF)(50) at the reproducing completion point, and provides the tracking error signal(TE) to a second switching unit(43) of the signal compensating unit(40) at the reproducing completion point.
