SOLUTION: At the time of issuing, fingerprint information (analog signal) transformed to magnetic data is read from a fingerprint layer 11 by a reproducing magnetic head 20. A CPU 20 reads the layer 11. A CPU 23 converts the analog signal into a digital signal. A memory 24 stores the digitized fingerprint information. A recording magnetic head 21 digitizes to record the information on a magnetic tape 14. At the time of collating, the CPU 23 reads the information from the memory 24, and collates it with the information read from the tape 14 at the time of collating. The CPU 12 reads information read from the tape 14 at the time of collating, and collates it with the information read by the head 20.
