PURPOSE: A display device is used at a dark place and a bright place by using a liquid crystal device(LCD) as a polarization shaft varying part, and achieves image display of a high quality at a dark place. CONSTITUTION: A display device mounts a phase difference film(30) and a upper polarizationdivider(20) to upper part of the liquid crystal(10). A diffusion plate(40), a lower polarization divider(50), a color filter(60), PET film(70) and aluminum(AL) film(80) are mounted to a lower part of the liquid crystal cell(10). The upper and lower polarization dividers(20)(50) reflects a beam of straight polarization of one direction as a beam of straight polarization of one direction. A polarization divider(reflection polarizer) penetrates a beam of straight polarization of another direction as a beam of straight polarization. A light from LCD(120) is inserted in a conductive player(130) between the upper polarization divider(20) and the phase difference film(30). A light is produced toward a liquid crystal cell(10) from a lower part of the plate(130). Thereby, the display device achieves image display of a high quality at a dark place.
