DEVICE AND METHOD FOR CONTINUOUSLY CASTING THIN METAL PRODUCT

PURPOSE: A method and a device for continuously casting a thin material is provided to reduce possibility that liquid metal leaks between the surface of a side wall or a dam and the surface of a roll section and to reduce abrasion in the surface of the side wall and the roll section. CONSTITUTION: A device contains a pair of counter-rotating rolls(1,2) separated as much as the thickness of a casting product and a pair of walls(3,4) as a side blocking device arranged to the sections of the rolls. The side blocking device contains a fireproof material plate(7) such as silicon carbide placed inside a supporting structure(8) such as a silica-alumina cast. Also a frame(11) is arranged to induce flame by passing through the structure and by projecting inside an inner hollow and supports a burner(15) working partly to reach the temperature over 1000°C. Therefore, the combustive fume of the burner is delivered outside through two openings(9,10).
