PURPOSE: A bar composition is provided which includes an amphoteric surfactant and enhances a workability in the high level of amphoteric surfactant by using the minimal level of fatty acid soap. CONSTITUTION: A bar composition comprises 10-70% of anionic surfactants or mixture thereof, 2-20% of zwiterinonic surfactant or amphoteric surfactant, and 3-25% of fatty acid soap in which a ratio of saturated fatty acid to unsaturated fatty acid is more than 1: 1 desirably, 10: 1. 10-70 wt.% of fatty acyl isetionate is desirable as anionic surfactant. Derivatives of aliphatic quaternary ammonium, phosphonium, and sulfonium are available as zwiterionic surfactants and betaine is available as amphoteric surfactant. A ratio of anionic surfactant to zwiterionic surfactant/amphoteric surfactant can be changed in the broad range(2: 1-50: 1). A C6-24 fatty acid soap is available. A ratio of saturated soap to unsaturated soap is more than 1; 1, and more than 2: 1 is desirable and more than 10: 1 is more desirable.
