PURPOSE: An optical cable and manufacturing method thereof is provided to discriminate an inverting portion in an external side of an outer coat and be simply manufactured in a low cost by assembling a plurality of optical fibers in an SZ twisted condition. CONSTITUTION: A long circumference member(2) is arranged to the center of an optical cable(1). One strand(3) is buried to the center of the long circumference member(2). 15 optical fiber units(4) is twisted to an outer circumference of the long circumference member(2) by an SZ shape. A ferromagnetic member(8) is fixed to an inner portion of an optical fiber unit(4F) among 15 optical fiber units(4). A single groove spacer(5F) is made by compressing and forming a PBT resin. A lower portion and a pair of side portions of the single groove spacer(5F) form one fiber accepting portion for accepting various optical fibers such as an optical fiber core wire, a pipe core wire, and a tape core wire.
