PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a compactor, which can steadily supply a finely powdered material so as to conform to its capacity without being affected by the back flowing of a gas by a method wherein the back flowing gas passes upwards through an opening, which is open at the lower end of a screw shaft, at the upper part of which small diameter holes are provided. SOLUTION: This compactor comprises a tubular body 21 made of a hopper part 21a and a cylindrical part 21b extending downwards from the hopper part 21a and a screw 22 rotatably inserted in the cylindrical part 21b so as to supply a fine powder to an extruder. In this compactor, the shaft 22a of the screw 22 is made into a tube. An opening 22A is formed at the lower end 22c of the shaft 22a, at the upper end part of which a plurality of small diameter holes 22d are provided so as to be constituted for the back flowing gas to pass through the opening 22A of the shaft 22a and escape from the small diameter holes 22d.
