PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adhesive composition which is preferably used as an adhesive for wood processing such as sliced veneer facing process, etc., does not ooze out to the surface, exerts a sufficient initial adhesion strength, has a high workability and is easily prepared. SOLUTION: This adhesive composition comprises an amino resin, a synthetic resin aqueous emulsion and/or synthetic rubber aqueous latex and a synthetic resin emulsion powder prepared by drying a synthetic resin aqueous emulsion. Here, the synthetic resin emulsion powder is preferably a spray dried synthetic resin emulsion obtained through emulsion polymerizing using a water-soluble polymer compound as a protective colloid, a synthetic resin emulsion powder having a glass transition temperature of 30 deg.C or lower, etc.
