PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering wheel with high rigidity in right and left sides. SOLUTION: This steering column is formed so that both side wall parts 5a of a distance bracket 5 connected to a jacket tube 2 are held by both side wall parts 3a, 3a of an upper clamp 3 fixed to a body, and both side wall parts 3a of the upper clamp 3 tighten both side wall parts 5a of the distance bracket 5 with tilt bolts through these both side wall parts 3a and 5a. Also, an upper distance dimension C for the distance bracket 5 is formed larger than a lower distance dimension B, and the distance bracket 5 so that a distance H ranging from the upper end where the distance bracket 5 is supported by the upper clamp 3 to the upper clamp 3 can be shortened. |
