PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lifting lug for picture frames which provides the sure self-locking of a lifting ring and is allows turning manipulation in and at arbitrary directions and angles and its production. SOLUTION: A lifting part 3 of a recessed shape is formed in the central part of a lug body 2 constituting the lifting lug 1 for picture frames and the end of this lug body 2 is inserted into the lifting ring 4 to detain the lifting ring 4 turnably with respect to the lifting part 3 and thereafter a self-locking piece 3a formed in the lifting part 3 is bent to the angle at which the opposite ends of the lifting part 3 are closed, by which the self-locking of the lifting ring 4 is achieved. As a result, the sure self-locking of the lifting ring 4 is made possible. The projection amount of the lifting part 3 is small and transportation and storage may be easily carried out. The turning manipulation of the lifting ring 4 and at the arbitrary directions and angles is possible.
