PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the spool exchange of a double bearing reel for fishing. SOLUTION: The spool 4 is rotatably supported between the side plates 2, 3 that are mounted to both frame plates 1a, 1b, respectively. A non-magnetic and electroconductive ring 16 is set to one end of the spool 4, while a pair of magnetic bodies 17, 18 are arranged to the side plate 2 so that they may oppose to the inner and outer faces of the non-magnetic electro-conductive ring 16. A regulation mechanism 19 or the like is provided so that one of the couple magnetic bodies may shift to the other. The case 11 for holding the bearing 6 supporting the spool 4, a pair of magnetic bodies 17, 18 and the regulation mechanism 19 is separately formed from the side plate 2, 3 and a side plate having a window hole 22 bored for exposing an adjust knob 19 on the regulation mechanism 19a is fixed to the holding case 11. The holding case 11 is mounted to the frame plate 1a by using a plurality of threaded rods 15 that are inserted from the frame plate 1b opposing to the frame plate 1a to which the holding case is mounted.
