摘要 PURPOSE: Optic fiber mach-zehnder interferometer(MZI) is manufactured by asymmetrical coupler allowing a separation of 30dB on a wider wavelength range in relation to a desired wavelength. CONSTITUTION: Asymmetric optic fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI)(10) includes first and second optical fibers being coupled in the first coupling area(12) and the second coupling area(14). The first and second optic fibers form two interfering arms(16,18) between the first and second coupling areas. A propagation constant of the first optic fiber in the first coupling area is different from that of the second optic fiber in the first coupling area. The first and second coupling areas have the first and second fused taper couplers. Asymmetrical structure provides a separation of 30dB in a wider wavelength range. The first coupling area divides a power at a desired wavelength by 50%. Thereby, optic fiber Mach-Zehnder interferometer(MZI) is manufactured by asymmetrical coupler allowing a separation of 30dB on a wider wavelength range in relation to a desired wavelength.
