PURPOSE: Novel sulfanyl silane is provided which has the same reinforcing effect as mercaptane and more extraordinary processing characteristics like low mixing viscosity and high scorch confidence. CONSTITUTION: The sulfanyl silane is characterized by the following chemical formula 1: X¬1X¬2X¬3Si-A-S-SiR¬1R¬2R¬3 wherein X¬1, X¬2 and X¬3 are independently H, (C1-C8) alkyl, (C1-C8) alkoxy, (C1-C4) haloalkyl, aryl, (C7-C16)aralkyl, halogen or -A-S-SiR¬1R¬2R¬3, R¬1, R¬2 and R¬3 are independently H, (C1-C16) alkyl, (C1-C16) alkoxy, (C1-C16) haloalkyl, aryl, (C7-C16)aralkyl, halogen or X¬1X¬2X¬3-A-S and A is in linear or straight chain, saturated or unsaturated, unsubstituted or (C1-C16) alkyl substituted by (C1-C4) alkyl, (C1-C4) alkoxy, halogen, nitryl, (C1-C4) haloalkyl, NO2, (C1-C4) thioalkyl, NR¬1R¬2, -A-S-SiR¬1R¬2R¬3 or X¬1X¬2X¬3-A-, aryl or (C7-C16) aralkyl. |
