PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing cyanopyrimidines at high yield by the gas phase catalytic reaction of alkylpyrimidines with ammonia and molecular oxygen. SOLUTION: When producing cyanopyrimidines by the gas phase catalytic reaction of alkylpyrimidines with ammonia and molecular oxygen, an oxide of the formula, VaSbbPcOd [wherein, (a), (b), (c) and (d) are atomic ratios of vanadium, antimony, phosphorus and oxygen respectively, and (b)=0-8, (c)=0-5, (b)+(c)≠0 an (d) is a value decided based on valences of other elements when (a)=1] is employed as a catalyst. |
