PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a cockroach-killing bait agent having aromatically attractive insecticidal efficacy. SOLUTION: The subject bait agent is such one that the stock material comprises a solid base material 1 predominant in bran, a starch-based solidifying agent 2, a sweetening additive 3, honey syrup 4, a chemical agent 5 comprising an insecticide acephate, and a solidifying liquid agent 6 comprising Japanese wine; and the respective proportions of the main components to be used are set as follows: the solidifying agent, sweetening additive, syrup, and chemical agent: about 10 wt.%, several wt.%, about 20 wt.%, and several wt.% in terms of acephate, respectively, based on the total amount of the solid base material, solidifying agent, sweetening additive, syrup, and chemical agent. This method for producing the objective bait agent comprises the following procedure: a mixed stock composed of the solid base material, solidifying agent and sweetening additive is mixed with a mixed stock material solution prepared by dissolving both the syrup and chemical agent in an appropriate amount of the solidifying liquid agent followed by gradual addition of the solidifying liquid agent further to form a kneaded product into a sheet-like product about several mm thick which is then dried and divided.
