PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer capable of disassembling a printer main body and a multistep paper feeding unit easily while reducing a space of a drive mechanism. SOLUTION: This printer is provided with a printer main body 10 having a pressing means 22 provided on an outer peripheral face 3a of a block barrel 3 so as to come into contact with and leave it freely and a paper feeding unit 8 feeding stacked printing sheets 15 toward a printing part 21 by a paper feeding roller 34, a multistep paper feeding unit 12 which is provided separately from the printer main body 10 and feeds stacked printing sheets 15, and an intermediate conveyance passage 20 provided with a pair of intermediate conveyance rollers 19 conveying the printing sheet 15 fed from the multistep paper feeding unit 12 toward the printing part 21. A pair of intermediate conveyance rollers 19 are arranged on the printer main body 10 side, and a drive mechanism 40 rotating and driving a pair of intermediate conveyance rollers 19 and the paper feeding roller 34 is provided in the printer main body 10.
