PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject mesh material capable of controlling ultraviolet rays, etc., contained in the sunlight to a suitable state, accelerating effective photosynthesis of a cultured crop and increasing quality, culturing in a short time and increasing a harvesting amount by using a sheer fabric textured with low fiber size synthetic fibers and exhibiting specific physical properties such as light shielding fraction and moisture permeability. SOLUTION: This mesh material is a sheer fabric textured with low fiber size synthetic fibers used as a mesh material S for covering an agricultural product and exhibits physical properties such as <=25% light shielding fraction and 700-1,200 g/m2.h moisture permeability. Preferably, mesh size of the sheer fabric textured with the low fiber size synthetic fibers is 160-240 # and the sheer fabric is textured with monofilament synthetic fibers, and furthermore, at least one of warp and weft texturing the sheer fabric contains an ultraviolet lays-absorbable compound.
