<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the inflow of sludge into a sedimentation section for sedimentation separation and to effectively utilize the space of the sedimentation section, in the device. SOLUTION: This device is provided with: a treatment vessel 10; a reaction section 11 that is placed in side the treatment vessel 10 in its bottom part and has an anaerobic sludge layer 12 and a water supply pipe 13 for supplying organic wastewater to the sludge layer 12 in an upward flow stream; an inverted-conical sedimentation section 14 that is placed inside the treatment vessel 10 and immersed in water above the reaction section 11; an upright cylindrical wall 15 which is placed inside the treatment vessel 10 so as to encircle the sedimentation section 14 and the upper end of which upwardly projects from the liquid level in the vessel 10 and the lower end of which is positioned at an underwater level midway between the underwater levels of the upper end and the lower end of the conical sedimentation section 14; a tapered wall 16 that extends from the lower end of the upright cylindrical wall 15 and is tapered toward the lower end of the sedimentation section 14 so as to reach a position near to the lower end of the sedimentation section 14; a partition wall 17 that is placed inside the upright cylindrical wall 15 and above the sedimentation section 14 and is downwardly tapered so as to extend downward into the sedimentation section 14 to a position a little below the underwater level of the upper end of the sedimentation section 14 and has in the upper part, an overflow trough 19 into which treated water overflows from the liquid level in the vessel 10; and a baffle 20 that is placed on the outer surface of the sedimentation section 14 so as to extend obliquely downward, namely, toward the lower end of the inner surface of the upright cylindrical wall 15; wherein a baffle 23 having a chevron- shaped cross-section is placed at the lower end of the sedimentation section 14.</p> |
