PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject ink composition high in stability with time and affording clear white handwritings rich in hiding power by including water, a shear viscosity reducing agent, and a specific pearl pigment as colorant. SOLUTION: This ink composition is obtained by including water, a shear viscosity reducing agent, and as a colorant, pref. 5-40 wt.% of a pearl pigment prepared by coating the surface of mica with titanium oxide to form a coating layer 40-60 nm thick, and pref. further 10-40 wt.% of titanium oxide as auxiliary colorant.
