METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECORDING IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a print head from being clogged with ink while avoiding complication of the print head and eliminating an extra time. SOLUTION: When ink drops are discharged from a print head 200 of an on-demand system which discharges ink drops to a recording sheet held on a hold face of a rotating cylinder 100, images are recorded through the rotation of the cylinder 100 as a main scan. According to this method for recording images, ink drops are idle discharged from the print head 200 to at least either of non-image areas forward and rearward in a rotation direction of the cylinder 100 of an image record area of the recording sheet.
