PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for geographical information-based control in communication system are provided to control power and parameters in two-way communication system by using a GPS receiver. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for geographical information-based control in communication system comprises a receiver module(26), a transmitter module(22), a controller(28), and a GPS receiver(24). The transmitter module is combined with the receiver module. The controller is combined with the receiver module and the transmitter module to control the selective call transceiver. The GPS receiver is combined with the controller to receive GPS information. The controller controls a transmitter power control, a site selection conversion, a sub-zone selection conversion, a forward error correction, a retry transmission decis ion, a Dopler frequency shifting, a synchronization, and a frequency scanning and selection by using the GPS information.
