PURPOSE: A method for producing a wire having FLUX of high hardness and abrasion resistance, especially a welding wire for repairing and welding a cool roll, is provided. CONSTITUTION: A wire having flux contains 1 to 10% of molybdenum, 1 to 10% of tungsten, 1 to 10% of graphite, 1-7% of nickel, 2 to 10% of vanadium, 20 to 40% of chrome, 5 to 15% of Na2SiF6, 1 to 10% of niobium, 10 to 25% of boron, 2 to 10% of silica sand and 1-8% of rare earth oxide. The components are ground to powder and fully agitated. Then the powder is put on 0.25 to 0.6mm of a steel strip. An extruder extrudes the steel strip to a wire and a drawer draws the steel strip so that the steel strip becomes a wire having flux of high hardness and abrasion resistance.
