PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a phosphoric acid derivative useful as an additive, etc., capable of imparting excellent extreme pressure properties, abrasion resistance, friction characteristics and fatigue life resistance, etc., to a lubricating oil and the additive for the lubricating oil containing the derivative. SOLUTION: This boron-containing phosphoric acid derivative has an absorption at 10 to -5 ppm in a phosphorus nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry and further absorptions at each of 5 to -5 ppm and/or -20 to -25 ppm in a boron nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry. The additive for a lubricating oil contains the boron-containing phosphoric acid derivative. |
