PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction apparatus such as a mechanical or electronic pipette. SOLUTION: This suction apparatus is provided with a membrane means air-tightly installed in an air space jointly formed by a cylindrical space 4 of the tip part 3 and a sample space 9 of a tip tool 8 attached to the tip part. The membrane means comprises membrane 12 made of a gas and liquid impermeable and reversibly deformable material. A liquid sample 10 can be taken into or brought out of the sample space 9 of the tip tool by bringing a means 5 reciprocating in the cylindrical space 4 into contact with the membrane 12. The means 5 reciprocating in the cylindrical space 4 in the tip part of the suction apparatus is brought into contact with the membrane 12 of a membrane means air-tightly installed in the air space jointly formed by the cylindrical space 4 and the sample space 9 of the tip tool 8 attached to the tip part to take or bring a sample into or out of the sample space 9. The membrane means can be detached from the tip part of the suction apparatus by moving the reciprocating means 5 over the position where the means is employed for taking or brining a sample into or out of the sample space.
