PURPOSE: A folding typed operation mechanism for a roof is provided to have an electronic control equipment for detecting the electronic signal of a position transmitter. CONSTITUTION: An operation mechanism includes an electronic control equipment(7) having an output terminal(8) for operating an electric motor(10) to drive a hydraulic pump(9). A hydraulic motor(2) forms a hydraulic gear mechanism(11) for being converted by a hydraulic valve(12) together with the hydraulic pump. The hydraulic valve is converted by the control electronic equipment along a moving direction intended of the folding type roof. When a folding typed roof(1) reaches out the position intended, limit switches(5,6) send an electronic signal to a limit-switch detector(13) of the control electronic equipment. And the signal is sent to a position detection unit(14). The signals of the position detection unit are supplied to a calculation unit(19) connected to an electronic memory(18), and the output terminal of the electric motor is operated by a controller(20) of a speed of revolution.
