OPTICAL-MAGNETO RECORD MEDIUM AND OPTICAL-MAGNETO RECORD APPARATUS

PURPOSE: An optical-magneto record medium is provided to have a magneto optical effect for an ultra violet light. CONSTITUTION: On a silicon substrate(10) is deposited a Co thin film(14), and Cu sheet layer (12) is interposed between the Co thin film(14) and the silicon substrate(10). The silicon substrate(10) has (100) or (111) direction. Each thickness of the Cu sheet layer(12) and the Co thin film(14) is about 100nm. The Co thin film(14) is a crystalline thin film of (100) or (111) direction having a face-centered cubic lattice structure. The Co thin film(14) has a rotation angle of maximum 0.4" with regard to an ultraviolet light having a wave length of 200 to 230nm.
