PURPOSE: A control method of a defrosting period of a refrigerator is provided to change the defrosting period by considering the operating time of a compressor and the humidity inside the refrigerator such as defrosting of the frost settled on an evaporator based on the humidity sensed by a humidity sensor when the operation accumulative time of the compressor passes as 6 to 8 hours. CONSTITUTION: A defrosting mode is performed if an error is detected from sensors by judging whether the error is detected through all kinds of sensors when the operation time of a compressor passes about 6 hours. When the error is not detected, the defrosting mode is performed if it is judged that an outside temperature is over 35°C, the operation rate of the compressor is over 80%, the inside humidity of the refrigerator is over 80%, or the door opening accumulative time of the refrigerator passes over 10 minutes after judging whether the outside temperature of the refrigerator is over 35°C through an outer temperature sensor.
