PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyol resin excellent in low-temperature fixing property, offset resistance and blocking resistance and useful for toners, or the like, by reacting specific bisphenols with a specific epoxy resin, a specific active hydrogen group-containing compound and a (poly)alkylene glycol. SOLUTION: This polyol resin is obtained by reacting (A) a bisphenol of formula I [R1 and R2 are each H, methyl, ethyl or phenyl] with (B) an epoxy resin of formula II [R3 and R4 are each R1; (n) is an integer of >=0], (C) a (poly)alkylene glycol such as (di)ethylene glycol, (D) a compound such as phenol having one or more active hydrogen groups capable of reacting with an epoxy group in the molecule and preferably (E) a crosslinking agent such as diethylene triamine, and has 85-150 deg.C softening point, 50-90 deg.C Tg, 1,000-10,000 number average molecular weight and 2-30 ratio (Mw/Mn) of weight average molecular weight/number average molecular weight.
|
