PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a mouse useful as an experimental animal used for research and development for the elucidation of pathophysiology and cause of, and the treatment of vasculitis, arteriosclerosis, ischemia re-perfusion disturbance, rheumatoid arthritis, nephritis, etc., by lacking myeloperoxidase gene function. SOLUTION: This mouse lacks whole or a part of myeloperoxidase gene, or substantially lacks the myeloperoxidase gene function by the insertion or substitution of other gene such as a selection marker gene at either one of the above sites. Further, as the selection marker gene, it is preferable to use a neomycin resistant gene capable of being selected by a geneticin resistance. |
