PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize high speed printing without deteriorating the image quality by selecting the ejection amount from the (n) kinds based on the gradation value of the image data, and driving a head based on first and second driving data set in different styles so as to form dots with the set ejection amount. SOLUTION: A computer 90 comprises a CPU 81 connected with a scanner 12 and a color printer 22, for executing various calculation processes according to a program. A head capable of ejecting an ink by the ejection amounts of the (n) or more kinds for each pixel is used for a printing apparatus. For a part of the ink with little influence on the image quality, a data style capable of expressing the gradation value is set according to the preliminarily stored data. For the other ink, a data style capable of expressing the (n) value is set. Since the information amount can be small, the data amount interchanged between first and second ejection amount setting means and a dot forming means can be reduced so as to shorten the time needed for the interchange for improving the printing speed. |
