PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the height of a vehicle from a field face and allow the vehicle to make a small turn in its advancing direction. SOLUTION: An agricultural rail type self-traveling vehicle includes running wheels 7a, 7b supporting the weight of a vehicle body and rolling on the upper surface of the flange 1a of an inverted-T-shaped rail 1, a plurality of position retaining wheels 10a, 10b abutting against either the right or left side face of the web 1b of the rail 1 to retain the horizontal position of the vehicle body relative to the rail, and drive wheels 10a, 10b each having meshing teeth (a) arranged in a line on its peripheral surface, the drive wheels 10a, 10b driven and rotated so that the meshing teeth (a) engage with irregular streaks 3 formed on the web 1b.
